EuroPrivacy is a certification scheme developed with the support of the H2020 European research project Privacy Flag. It encompasses the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) obligations [1], as well as Swiss Law on Data Protection [2] and international conventions related to Privacy [3].

EuroPrivacy certification scheme is supported and maintained by the European Center for Certification and Privacy, the Istituto Italiano per la Privacy, and Archimede Solutions.

The European Centre for Certification and Privacy is specialized in innovative certification processes, personal data protection and the Internet of Things. It is closely engaged in research and innovation at the international level and it is in charge of several certification processes.

The ECCP is particularly active in the following areas:

  • Certification and labeling processes: The European Centre for Certification and Privacy is researching and developing innovative certification schemes combining ISO model with emerging technologies and standards.
  • Privacy and Personal Data Protection: The European Centre for Certification and Privacy is on the front line of certification addressing the emerging privacy and personal data protection norms. It supports the EuroPrivacy certification process covering the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
  • ICT certification: The European Centre for Ceretification and Privacy is supporting certification of information and communication technologies, encompassing products, services and information management systems. It is also directly supporting certification and labeling services such as the IPv6 Ready Logo programme.
  • Internet of Things: The European Centre for Certification and Privacy is researching and developing new certification models for the Internet of Things.
